Being a person of strong beliefs, Woo had no choice but to call Cage “the Devil” when the Ghost Rider actor had to shoot a particular scene. In Face/Off, Nicolas Cage donned the uniform of a priest during the opening scenes of the movie. Years later, Cage revealed in an interview with Uproxx that the scene led to director John Woo calling him the devil!

“Well, John… I haven’t spoken to him in a very long time, but at one time we were pretty close. And I considered him my friend. And I’d like to talk to him again and say hi. He just worked with Joel Kinnaman on Silent Night. And I worked with Joel on Sympathy for the Devil.”

He further continued,

“But John’s also, he’s serious about his faith, so he probably saw the devil when I was doing the headbanging role in the priest’s uniform. You’ve got to give that some credit.”

What’s more harrowing is the fact that the scene wasn’t even scripted! As per a Reddit thread, the headbanging scene was not in the scripts and the cameraman was simply following Nic Cage’s routine on the sets!
