Hideo Kojima is known as the auteur of video games and has the respect of the entire gaming community and the entertainment industry.
Kojima’s projects always bring out something new and genre-defining and the connections he has made with his colleagues are always emphasized in his most recent works, and it could have major implications for the future.
Hideo Kojima Is Assembling An Army Of Game Directors
The Japanese director has a very strong vision for his projects but also an eye for collaboration with other creatives. Recently, the director of Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 was being scanned for a Kojima Productions project which could indicate a future cameo of Sam Lake in either Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, OD, or Kojima’s brand new IP with PlayStation: Physint.

The nature of game development has had the reputation of being secretive and kept behind a lock and key, but other game developers have the benefit of having an inside look. Kojima has a strong reputation in the gaming industry especially when Sony immediately gave him a hand to get up on his feet after leaving his previous company, Konami. There was no word of what he was up to after his departure but Sony could not care less and gave him all the support and freedom he needed.

Kojima also invited Kim Hyung-Tae, the director of Stellar Blade to their building which could all be a simple visit or the South Korean director was also scanned behind the scenes.
Countless celebrities like Conan O’Brien have appeared in a short guest appearance in Death Stranding but there is a chance the likelihood of fellow directors will be used as major supporting characters in the sequel like George Miller.
Perhaps Hyung-Tae’s comments about his approach to designing characters will influence the upcoming games Kojima has up his sleeves. Acknowledging the success of other games can be beneficial for both developers and fans.
What Is Hideo Kojima Up To Over At Kojima Productions?
There is a strong possibility that Kojima is forging stronger bonds with other creatives from different industries to have a better feel for it. The director has expressed his interest in directing feature-length films and while his recent works are already on par some would argue that his games are even better than movies, he will most likely be involved with the live-action adaptation of Death Stranding with A24.
Whether all of his invitations with various people from the entertainment industry have other purposes that are related to work, it is very wholesome to see these people come together and share their work with people they trust and are well aware of the secretive nature of game development. The chances are extremely high to see the likelihood of Sam Lake and Kim Hyung-Tae appearing in either Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, OD, or even Physint as a quick cameo.
Hideo Kojima is one of the most creative minds in the entire gaming industry and fellow directors acknowledge it and praise him for his talent and whatever he is cooking up at Kojima Productions with his club of friends will surely be innovative.
