Animal Crossing New Horizons is one of the most popular games in the Animal Crossing franchise. The players move to a new island, complete missions, and give shape to the island as they want. They can forge friendships with human-like animals and grow a community. Although the game is dubbed relaxing and charming, some moments just bring something unexpected for players.
An Animal Crossing New Horizons player has spotted a bug giving Marina a feature no one expected to see. The hilarious sight was then seen making the rounds on the internet and has added to the entertainment of fans.
Animal Crossing New Horizons Bug Turns Marina Into Pinocchio
A Reddit post by user bag_of_deer on the r/AnimalCrossing subreddit showed Marina having a never-ending nose, extending to the borders of the Nintendo Switch display. When the player launched the game, they were welcomed with this unusual sight. Also, the island that normally appears in the background of the welcome screen did not load properly, and the game only showed several shading textures.
This sight of Marina with a Pinocchio-like nose added to players’ amusement and it soon surfaced on the internet. Fans interacting with the post joked how “Marina has ascended- she is becoming one with Cthulhu.” One fan joked that Marina has now joined the void, and one can too, while another added that Marina looks like the teacher from Little Nightmares 2.
However, the player who encountered the bug did not reveal anything about any issue they faced, making it difficult to know if it actually caused a problem with Animal Crossing New Horizons running or something else. While there have been a few reports of players facing problems with the title screen when launching the game, none of them report a character having a nose that runs down to the device display, and they were only reported during the early launch.
Games coming usually have no or minimal technical issues and bugs, as Nintendo looks to bring well-polished titles, providing issue-free games to its community. However, problems might still occur similar to this hilarious bug now. Other players haven’t reported this bug or encountered anything like this. This strange feature of Marina looks like something that could be caused by a corrupted texture cache or is just a read error.
Such issues are common in the video game industry and are also easily fixed. Another such issue came to light last year when a player had a jump scare in Animal Crossing New Horizons after a friend suddenly popped up into the foreground and covered most of the screen.
It then soon vanished, adding more creepiness to the sudden appearance. As the player did not report any other issues with their game or device, it’s easy to guess that they would have been able to resume playing.
