The Harry Potter-themed game from Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy, may be close to seeing its first full year of release, and the popularity of the title remains high. However, there are those fans who would love to see a multiplayer element added to the game and are hoping to see this aspect in the near future.
While there may not be a native multiplayer mode for the game itself, there is a highly popular mod called HogWarp that appeared not long after the release of the title. The mod saw huge groups of players gathering in 100+ lobbies and enjoying some manic multiplayer action.
Are We Any Closer to Hogwarts Legacy Multiplayer?
With the popularity of HogWarp, it’s clear that there is a desire among fans to have a multiplayer mode added to the game. The difficulty with the HogWarp mod is that it only supports up to ten players; a previous stress test that supported 160 players was used to see how to expand the mod.
The Together Team, who developed the mod, has provided fans with some cautious optimism regarding updates on the popular feature. Taking to the official HogWarp Discord Server, the developers were asked about expanding the multiplayer, with the response being, “For now, we are focusing on other projects but we plan on completing it later.”
It may seem like a pretty vague comment, but at least for now, it will provide some hope to players. Those Hogwarts Legacy PC players will perhaps be keeping their fingers crossed that this will come to fruition.
The Latest Updates From Developers for Hogwarts Legacy
Developers have been on social media as of late to provide updates on the game, and it was confirmed that the Haunted Hogsmeade Quest is set to launch for Xbox, PC, and Switch this summer. With this came a teaser of forthcoming updates and features in the coming months.
However, judging by some of the replies to this post on X, fans of Hogwarts Legacy appear to be split in their opinions of these proposed updates. Many seem to be excited for the forthcoming updates; however, on the other hand, some seem less than impressed.

It’s clear that fans are passionate about wanting to see updates, and some are prepared to wait longer than others. Despite the difference of opinion, it’s clear that the game is still held in high regard nearly a year later.

While the updates for Hogwarts Legacy have been few and far between, many PC players will be delighted to hear that the Together Team is still working on the multiplayer element of the game. The HogWarp mod may tie some people over in the meantime, but the majority of fans on other consoles would love to see it implemented for real.
