After winning the hearts alongside different accolades in 2023, Hogwarts Legacy is dropping the free downloadable content (DLC) for its players soon. To be precise, the content might not exactly be new to many considering they might have experienced it with a PlayStation-exclusive quest dubbed Haunted Hogsmeade.

However, as the game gets traction, the users playing the game on different consoles like PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch should be excited about the update. What’s more, they are likely to see some additional content dropping throughout 2024.

An official announcement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) reads that “the Hogwarts Legacy PlayStation-exclusive content will be available on other platforms later this summer, along with additional updates and features for the game.”

Hogwarts Legacy Community Appears Hungry For Content

The game has sold 24 Million copies to this date.

There are no specifics as to when or what will be included in the update nor has it been confirmed that it is indeed Haunted Hogsmeade DLC that will become part of other consoles. Users have also requested to bring Quidditch, the popular game of witches and wizards of Hogwarts, in this update. With Hogwarts Legacy coming into fashion, there is clearly an unsatiated hunger for content among the community.

For many gamers, it was indeed a surprise for many as Hogwarts Legacy broke a 15-year-long streak that began in the year The Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga dominated Billboard (2009). For 15 years, either Activision Blizzard or Rockstar Games was the only name that kept popping up for bringing the best game over the period.

Coincidently, Activision Blizzard was acquired by the Windows bearer, Microsoft, in 2023 only. However, the deal didn’t likely have any effect on Call of Duty.

According to data aggregator Statista, the game has already sold 24 Million copies, generating a revenue of over a Billion dollars at the press time. While it was initially released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, it later expanded to platforms like Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and more.

A Quidditch Game Would Be Amazing

Players are keen on receiving any update on a Hogwarts Legacy spin-off.

The new update will most probably add new cosmetics or fix some in-game bugs, however, in addition to that, Warner Bros. may introduce larger-than-expected content. If this happens, a magical year is likely to have been waiting ahead for the game. For now, Avalanche Software, a Warner Bros subsidiary, and the game’s developer, has provided the players with Hogwarts in its all glory.

Furthermore, Warner Bros. Games also announced a spin-off title focused specifically on Quidditch in April 2023. However, the company has not provided with any relevant update yet. Moreover, the speculated game was slated to release on PC and other platforms, but nothing has been confirmed by the studio so far.

David Haddad, WB Interactive Entertainment president, told the American magazine Variety that they “don’t have any particular announcements on exactly how and when the Quidditch game is going to come to the market, but we are working to get it designed in a way just to delight fans.”
