Hollywood’s a pretty small place if you see. While there are family dynasties that have been ruling showbiz for years, there are also some celebrities who are related by blood or ancestral roots that we’ve never even heard of. Take a look yourself:

1. George Clooney and Miguel Ferrer

As the name speaks, George Clooney hails from a family of artists. His dad was a TV anchor while his aunts Rosemary and Betty were actors who raised their kids to join the same field of art. Rosemary’s son, the late actor Miguel Ferrer was recognized for playing roles in NCIS: Los Angeles, Crossing Jordan, and RoboCop. This eventually made Miguel and George Clooney first cousins.

2. Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus

Dolly Parton revealed in a 2019 interview how she came to be Miley’s godmother after working with her father and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, in the early 1990s. Even on her Disney TV show Hannah Montana, Parton, and Miley Cyrus were shown as distant relatives.

3. Nicholas Cage and Francis Ford Coppola

The alpha movie star of the late ’90s, Nicolas Cage happens to be the nephew of one of the greatest legends of Hollywood, Francis Ford Coppola. Coppola was the genius mind behind The Godfather franchise. As a kid, Nicolas would visit his uncle quite often. He owes credit to Francis Ford Coppola for inspiring him to be a part of the Hollywood industry.

4. Prince Charles & Ralph Fiennes

Globally renowned for playing the Dark Lord in the Harry Potter franchise, Ralph Fiennes happens to be of royal hereditary in real life. Apparently, Britain’s Charles (Prince of Wales) and Fiennes are both descendants of King James II of Scotland. This makes them related as 8th cousins.

5. Emma Roberts & Julia Roberts

She earned herself a name for playing the lead Addie Singer on the Nickelodeon TV sitcom Unfabulous. It’s as if acting runs in Emma’s veins. She’s the daughter of Eric Roberts who’s the brother of Emma Roberts. This makes Emma Roberts Julia’s niece.

George Wendt was the face of comedy films in the ’80s and ’90s. You might recognize him from films like Cheers, Gung Ho, Man of the House, etc. His nephew Jason Sudeikis followed his footsteps in comedy and went on to make appearances in Saturday Night Live, We’re the Miller, and Horrible Bosses.

8. Hillary Clinton and Angelina Jolie

While Clinton and Jolie aren’t immediate relatives, the Democrat recently learned that she and Jolie are 9th cousins and have the same ancestral root. It was even verified by researchers that they’re related.

Glee superstar Kate Hudson is the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn. Back in her time, Goldie was the queen of comedy and is also a recipient of an Academy Award. Both the actresses have defined their identities independent of each other’s fame.
