Tom Hollander Mistakenly Received Tom Holland’s Hefty MCU Cheque

While Tom Hollander and Tom Holland bear no resemblance, the similarity in their names often leads to the occasional mix-up. During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Night Manager star was naturally asked by the host about being mistaken for the Spider-Man actor, prompting him to share an entertaining story. He started by saying,

“I was here first. But he’s enormously famous.”

Once, he visited a friend working in a theater in England for 300 pounds a week after doing a BBC show for 30 grand, intending to smugly boast about it. However, during the intervals, a singular email managed to drain all of it down the drain, as he narrated,

“People in the accounts department of my agency got confused. We were with the same agency briefly. And it was a terrible moment,– I checked my email, and I got one from the agency saying, ‘Payment slip for first box office bonus for The Avengers.’”

“It was an astonishing amount of money,–It was not his salary. It was his first box-office bonus. Not the whole box-office bonus, the first one. And it was more money than I’d ever [seen]. It was a seven-figure sum.”

In addition to this, not only do confused and helpless parents mistake the actor for the Spider-Man star, but this also leads to some disappointed children who were undoubtedly there to see Tom Holland. But Hollander doesn’t let it bother him. He simply brushes it off, labeling it as just another day in the wacky world of showbiz.

Will Tom Holland Ever Return as Spider-Man?

The last time people saw Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, it wasn’t clear whether the star would return for a fourth movie. When asked about his thoughts in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Holland himself revealed,

“There’s a bit of a stigma about the fourth one in all franchises, I feel like we hit a home run with our first franchise, and there’s a part of me that wants to walk away with my head held high and pass the baton to the next lucky kid that gets to bring this character to life.”

But shortly after disappointing the fans with his statement, he revealed to Collider,

“If we can figure that out, I would be a fool not to put the suit back on again because I owe everything to Spider-Man,–I love the character and the people I get to work with. So, I would love to tell another story, but I’ll only tell it if we can find the right one.”

Until now, one thing the actor has made abundantly clear is his reluctance to make a film just for the sake of it. He’s all in if the movie does justice to the character.
