Ella Purnell has entered the cultural zeitgeist with her hit show Fallout, based on the video game of the same name. The show has become quite the hit, which indicates Purnell’s rise as a science fiction icon. The Fallout actress has also been a part of the Star Trek universe, but there is one regret regarding the show that the actress still suffers from.
Speaking to the Independent, Purnell revealed a lot about her career, talking about things that she had to do for her career. She also opened up about her time on Star Trek: Prodigy, and how much she enjoyed working on it. However, she also revealed a rather interesting detail about her Star Trek tenure, something that has caused her a lot of shame.
Ella Purnell has never seen Star Trek
Despite having starred in Star Trek Prodigy, the actress revealed to the Independent that she had never, in fact, watched Star Trek. The actor revealed:
“Honestly, the shame that I feel around that has really taken hold.”
This was followed by an immediate promise to binge all of it over the weekend (though given how expansive the series is, how that is going to happen, no one knows). Apart from this, the actress has also starred in other nerdy roles, most recently in Arcane, the massively successful Netflix show based on the League of Legends IP, which won the Actress an Annie award and sits at a cozy 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Ellen Purnell has been slowly collecting a slew of science fiction franchises for herself, ranging from Star Trek to Fallout, and even in animation with Invincible and Arcane.
What’s next for Ella Purnell?
While the actress has received a lot of accolades for the huge success of various shows, there seem to be some peculiar projects on the horizon. Following Fallout, the actor would be jumping into another post-apocalyptic world with Zack Snyder‘s Army of the Dead universe, where she will star in the prequel anime, Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.
The actress is also set to appear in the upcoming comedy-drama Sweetpea for Sky Atlantic, where she will be essaying the lead role of a woman escaping childhood infamy. The actress is cementing herself, specifically in the science fiction scene in Hollywood, which bodes well for her going forward. With the rise of shows like Arcane, The Last of Us, and Fallout, it seems that the industry might look to science fiction video games to produce prestige dramas, which bodes well for actors like Ella Purnell who have a lot of experience with the genre.
