Following their excellent chemistry in The Greatest Showman, Rebecca Ferguson and Hugh Jackman shared screen space once again in 2021’s Reminiscence. The neo-noir sci-fi thriller follows the story of a man who uses a machine that can see into people’s memories, in order to find his missing lover. The film saw both Ferguson and Jackman in completely different avatars to their earlier collaboration.

In an interview which appeared in DT Next, Ferguson spoke about her experience working on the project and her rapport with Jackman. The Dune actor was effusive in her praise for the Marvel alum and his graciousness on set. She stated that the comfort level she shared with Jackman allowed her to express herself as authentically as possible without any embarrassment.

“I can try things out. I can be ridiculous. I can humiliate myself and still be so embraced and for him, just holding space for me. And hopefully he feels the same about me.”

This camaraderie with the Deadpool 3 actor created a safe space for Ferguson to give it her all in many difficult and challenging scenes in the film, which she admitted was a pleasure to share with Jackman.

2024 is looking to be a blockbuster year for Rebecca Ferguson. The Swedish star’s portrayal of Lady Jessica in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 2 is receiving a lot of praise even as the film looks well on its way to becoming one of the biggest blockbusters in Hollywood.

Following the sequel, Ferguson is now looking ahead to her next big project. As per a report in Deadline, The Greatest Showman actor is set to feature with Chris Pratt in Mercy. Veteran producer Charles Roven who recently won big for Oppenheimer, will be on board to bankroll the Amazon MGM Studios film.

Mercy will be a sci-fi thriller directed by Timur Bekmambetov based on a script by Marco van Belle. The futuristic narrative follows a detective played by Pratt who is accused of a violent crime and is desperate to prove his innocence in a world where capital crime has become a regular occurrence in daily life.

With production expected to start in the spring of 2024, details of Ferguson’s role in the film is yet to be disclosed. Meanwhile, the Mission: Impossible actor is back to work on the Apple TV+ series Silo where she is currently filming the 2nd season. In addition, the actor is also credited as the producer of the show.
