Horizon Forbidden West is getting an edition with all the released content, which is aptly named Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition. The base game launched in February 2022 on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 to highly positive reviews from critics and fans alike. Developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony, the game is a sequel to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, which launched on the PlayStation 4 and made its way over to PC in August of 2020.
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition releases tomorrow, i.e., October 6th, on the PlayStation 5, and it will cost players $69.99. The title is notable for being the first physical game that requires two discs as opposed to the usual one disc, and it is being released almost three years after the initial release of the PlayStation 5.
What does Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition contain?
Apart from containing the base game, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition also contains the Burning Shores DLC, which was released earlier this year, in April, and it picks up after the campaign of the main game. In addition to that, it also contains the digital soundtrack, a digital art book, and a digital comic book called Horizon Zero Dawn Vol. 1: The Sunhawk.

There are also several extra in-game items in Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, such as extras in Photo Mode, which includes a special pose and face paint, and also items that are unlocked by progressing in the story. The latter includes a Carja Behemoth Elite outfit, a Carja Behemoth Short Bow, a Nora Thunder Elite outfit, a Nora Thunder Sling, an Apex Clawstrider Machine Strike piece, and a Resources pack.
As per the game box that was shared by the Does it play? X (formerly Twitter) account, the game comes in at a maximum of 121 GB. Meanwhile, the Ultra HD Blu-ray discs that Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition comes on can store up to 100 GB of data, hence the need for two discs. The two-disc symbol looks like a pair of eyes, which many fans have gotten a laugh out of!

The two discs for the game are used for authentication, so there will be no need to switch between the two. It isn’t the only game with two discs for the PlayStation 5 either, with the other game being Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, and it is set to launch in February 2024.
As for PC gamers, they will have to wait to get their hands on Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition since it releases in early 2024 through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The PC port is being handled by Nixxes Software, a company specializing in PC ports owned by Sony.
A Brief Introduction to the World of Horizon
Horizon Forbidden West and its prequel Horizon Zero Dawn are set in a post-apocalyptic version of the United States where animal-like robots called Machines run wild and are a danger to human society. This human society has regressed into several different tribes that do not have any understanding of the world that existed before them. It is in this dangerous setting that the protagonist, Aloy, must live and survive.

The games are both open-world and feature a large map for players to explore, where they can complete quests, discover new areas, fight difficult enemies, and much more. As for combat, there are both melee and ranged weapons in the form of a special spear for the former and various bows for the latter.
In Horizon Forbidden West, Aloy journeys to the titular Forbidden West, a large, dangerous area that contains new threats and enemies. She goes there in the hopes of solving an ancient mystery that could shed light on the looming collapse of the Earth, and it promises to be a personal journey that will change Aloy as well.
