Arrowhead Game Studios has really hit the jackpot with Helldivers 2, which became one of the most popular games of the year. This multiplayer, almost obligatory co-op game created an enormous community that is already eager to fight for democracy.
On Reddit, some users are imagining the everyday life of a soldier from Super Earth, talking about how they get the cryogenization treatment and get launched into battle with no question asked. Most importantly, they die over and over again without any kind of mercy for their lives in the name of democracy.

The Helldivers 2’s battle mode is straightforward: after choosing your mission, stratagems, and weapons, you and your party engage in combat. The objective is simple, but the enemies are very deadly. If you survive, the reward is big. But you will die more than once as your squad; this is a key part of the gameplay. Once you die, you can have another soldier land on the battlefield. This particular routine was picked up by a Reddit user and described with a very dark realization: Helldivers soldiers are not clones.

This user had a very interesting theory about the soldiers; he said, “My understanding is that we are not clones. There’s in-game lore that backs that, I believe. Thematically, it makes more sense for Super Earth to be incompetent and cruel and burn through millions of recruits.”

Other users joked about this, pointing out that one Helldiver has just deployed and will be extracted to end the mission. Soldiers are replaced in every new mission, and it is very difficult to survive without at least dying once, so the new soldier is thrown into battle within less than 5 minutes of getting out of the cryogenization. The life of a soldier is crude and expandable, but democracy needs them to bring the occupation down.
Helldivers 2 new leaks are pointing out that new vehicles and stratagems will be available soon; there is even some test footage where Arrowhead Game Studios staff participated in player missions showing how the Recon vehicle works. The studio has not provided any confirmation regarding the inclusion of these new features in the game.
