The production of the second season of the show is in full swing despite the Writers and Actors’ Strike. A fan has managed to gather pictures from the sets and one of these pictures reveals that the creators are planning to introduce a new major location in the show. This is a major change as the introduction of this location will deviate the show from the book’s plot.

House of the Dragon is an adaptation of Fire and Blood and in the book, The Wall was never introduced. This indicates that fans can expect some kind of change in the storyline in the second season of the show.

In the finale of season one, Rhaenyra Targaryen sends her son, Jacaerys Velaryon to Winterfell for an important mission, which is to secure the loyalty of the young ruler, Lord Cregan Stark. Just like the events in the book, Jacaerys Velaryon successfully completes the mission and forms a bond with Cregan. Now fans are speculating that it is possible Jacaerys Velaryon visits The Wall on Vermax, his dragon.

It is impossible for the series to adapt George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood book accurately. The creators are trying their best to stay true to the material but some changes are necessary.

The Writers and Actors’ Strike didn’t slow down the show

The SAG AFTRA strikes
The SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike

The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and Writers Guild of America (WGA) have united thousands of actors and writers to protest against unfair wages. Apart from this, they want contracts that prevent an AI from replacing them at their jobs. Many major Hollywood projects have been halted due to this strike.

The production of the second season of House of the Dragon was unaffected by this because it is shot in Europe, mostly United Kingdom. The second season of the show is all set to release in 2024.
