Henry Cavill Had A Sound Vision For Superman

Ever since Henry Cavill portrayed the role of Superman in Man of Steel, which was released in 2013, and ever since fans have been passionately asking for the sequel of the film. The actor’s portrayal of the hero was perfect and fans wanted to see more and more of Cavill’s portrayal of the character. However, before Cavill was forced to retire as Last Son of Krypton, the Enola Holmes actor sat for an exclusive with Collider, where he shared that the growth of his character should be similar to that in comic books, and how he will love to showcase the ideology of the character.

“I had a bit more of a gentleness to the tone of the thing, but I would love to have the opportunity to play the Superman that we all know and love from the comics, as a continuation of his development and we see the hero. That would be really, really exciting for me because there is an opportunity to tell a lot of interesting story there.”

“It’s just about finding the right hooks to have a character that is as good and idealistic as Superman, that there are wonderful opportunities to delve into what it’s like to exist as him and those hardships that come with that. When you have to save everyone, how hard is that on you? That could be an interesting line to run.”

While fans were eyeing the return of Henry Cavill, the expectations would remain an illusion to the fans, as Gunn is looking for the right actor to be the next Clark Kent, and fill the massive void left by the actor.

Henry Cavill Was Keen To Showcase Superman’s Story Snyder’s DCEU

In the same interview with Collider, the actor shared that Man of Steel was a “wonder opening story” for his character, but it had some void that could have shown him as the character we love and know. “I felt like Man of Steel was a wonderful opening story, an origin story to Superman. It left a lot of space for him to grow beyond that and become the hero that we recognize. Batman v Superman took a hard turn down a darker route and it was a Batman perspective story and so it didn’t really show the aspects of Superman which I was very, very keen to show. Justice League Snyder Cut definitely leant into that a bit more.”

After years of waiting, fans were excited that DC has finally decided to progress with the story of Henry Cavill’s Superman, and when Gunn announced a new Superman movie, as a part of his upcoming project. However, the exit of the actor has made the future of the character in the dark, and it is unsure if the replaced actor would be able to replace the void created by Cavill.
