After months of anticipation, Ezra Miller’s The Flash has finally hit the theatres, while the final movie of Zack Snyder’s DCEU was expected to be a massive hit, as the movie was hyped by several big names including James Gunn and Tom Cruise. Regardless of the production budget, marketing, and hype created for the film, it ended up as nothing but a huge disappointment for the franchise.

However, the situation started to worsen for the film as it started to get compared to one of the worst Marvel movies ever created, as The Flash has seen a significant fall in its earnings, as it continues to premiere on the big screen. The situation looks grim for Ezra Miller because the drop is more than the recent DCEU box office failures, that is, Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

The Flash Gets Compared To Marvel’s Biggest Failure

After managing to live up to its hype only on the opening weekend of its release, Ezra Miller’s The Flash has been underperforming at the box office, as the film has collected only $201.9 million worldwide. However, it has not matched Warner Bros. Discovery, and to add to their problem the film is getting compared to some of the most disappointing superhero films ever created.

As per The Wrap, The Flash has seen a major 72% drop, some estimating that this drop is worse than Marvel Studios Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but a little better than Morbius which had seen a 73.8% drop when it released in 2022, which earned only $39 million on its opening weekend.

The fall is shocking because of the big names attached to the film, such as Ben Affleck, Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, as well as Micheal Keaton who has returned to portray his role of Bruce Wayne/ Batman. Moreover, James Gunn, who took over the DC Studios as the new Co-CEO had immense faith in the movie and has just made the DC fans disappointed. In any case, The Flash is not getting a sequel in James Gunn’s DCU, and with that, Ezra Miller’s future in the new DCU remains uncertain.

Ezra Miller’s Future In DCU Is in Jeopardy

After James Gunn took over as the new Co-CEO of the DC Studios the decision to take down the existing DCEU did not come as a shock, as Gunn and Safran has their own plans and vision to build the perfect DCU that the fans will enjoy and look forward to. As a result, the sacking of Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck was forgiven by ardent DC fans.

While Ezra Miller’s job was safe, many fans questioned it due to the actor’s controversial past. When Gunn was asked about Miller’s future, he shared that they will wait and see how things turn out.

“We’re just gonna have to wait and see. You know, we’ll see how things go.”

Since The Flash has failed to meet expectations, it can be interpreted that it is not long before the Justice League actor is forced to walk away from their iconic role of Barry Allen/ The Flash.
