The first installment of the movie was released in 2018 and was received well by the audience. The production team did want to take risks with the budget for the film, hence, the lead was paid just $7 million. He played the role of a journalist Eddie Brock, a human that hosts the symbiote Venom. Sony Pictures was hesitant in investing a lot in the movie as it was released after Spider-Man 3, which did not perform as expected.

However, the movie turned out to be a grand success and grossed $856 million worldwide.

The second installment of production was Venom: Let There Be Carnage released in 2021. The film received a record opening of $90.1 million, however, the earning of the movie was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Tom Hardy’s film grossed $506.9 million. Regarding the salary of the star, it was a massive improvement from his first one, but it was not disclosed. As per reports, he also co-wrote Venom: Let There Be Carnage and earned screenwriting credits.

Screenwriter Kelly Marcel shared with the entertainment magazine Empire,

“He’s married to Venom … He’s very involved in what he thinks should happen.”

Owing to the success of the first and second movies of the Sony Pictures franchise, the next one is already in the making. As per reports by Variety, the star of the upcoming Venom film will be making $20 million for his role. He is also the producer and co-writer of the upcoming film.

Tom Hardy’s cameo in the post-credit scene of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home 

All those who have watched Spider-Man: No Way Home saw a small cameo of Tom Hardy as Venom in conversation with a bartender. He is seen asking about all the superheroes that are alive. Regarding the salary for the cameo of Tom Hardy, the amount has not been disclosed. Talking about the cameo, Tom Holland revealed in an interview with CinemaBlend, that Hardy had shot the post-credit scene on the same set that was used for the Spider-Man film. It surely indicates that the two superheroes may soon have a crossover. Holland shared,

“I was on set, Amy Pascal came over to me and had a conversation about it. I was very excited. Tom Hardy came to set only a few days later to film his side of the Venom tag.”

The upcoming Venom film or the Spider-Man film, may show a face-to-face interaction between the two stars. But it is just a speculation that we as fans are hoping for.
