It is already rumored that the MCU might involve characters from its Legacy films in the upcoming Secret Wars event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This might include characters such as Tobey McGuire’s Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider, and Wesley Snipes’s Blade.

The idea is to organize the entirety of the Marvel multiverse under a single banner. Fans have also speculated that the film might function as a soft reboot, changing the canon to keep what the fans enjoy and delete what the fans have not responded to well.

Kelsey Grammer has talked about his character with The Wrap, saying that we might see Hank McCoy in the MCU again.

Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to be released on May 7, 2027. This date has been changed twice, first due to internal delays, and then due to the Writer’s and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The film will be the concluding chapter of the Multiverse Saga, released more than a year after the current release date of Avengers: Kang Dynasty. However, Marvel has released 2 dates between the 2 films, that are yet to have a film attached to them: July 24, 2026 and November 6, 2026.

So far, there have been no casting details released for the film. Fans are still speculating as to what the plotline of the film could be. It is largely expected that the villain for Secret Wars would be Kang the Conqueror, and heroes across the Marvel Multiverse (including films not in the MCU) will be teaming up to fight the good fight, before streamlining themselves into a single universe, creating the quintessential Marvel Cinematic Universe.
