Gon Might Lose His Jajanken in Hunter x Hunter
According to a fan theory, if Gon manages to gain back his Nen usage ability in Hunter x Hunter, he might lose his Enhancer powers. If he relents his Enhancer powers, he will automatically lose his beloved Jajanken.
It’s extremely rare for people to be able to change their Nen type. However, it is not impossible. Gon and Killua’s Nen Master, Wing, told them about people who can change their Nen type after undergoing extraordinary circumstances in life. It is unlikely that the information would be placed there just as a filler. Yoshihiro Togashi could have dropped it as an Easter egg.
Wing’s banter might turn out to be foreshadowing. Because why would such a fact be introduced if someone in the manga does not undergo the change? But what guarantees the fact that Gon will be the one to change? Because Gon did suffer through extraordinary circumstances when he overcame death.
If Gon loses his Nen type forever or undergoes a change, he will lose his Jajanken, his clever technique that amalgamates his creativity and strength.
What Nen Type Will Gon Change to?
If Gon does undergo a Nen change, Togashi would probably make sure that it does not overlap with any of the other main characters, especially Killua. Thus, probability favors Manipulator and Specialist types the most.
When Gon undergoes a Nen change, he might also undergo a change of heart. Throughout the series, the boy has been obsessed with finding his father to discover why being a hunter is so fulfilling. And how he could leave his family alone because of his overwhelming love for being a hunter. Being an Enhancer also made Gon perfect to devote himself to his goal.
But now that Gon has already achieved his goal, what’s next? If he has advanced his powers as much as possible, it’s best to change to another Nen type for new advancements in the field and newer adventures.
