Stanley Simons first made his acting debut back in 2019 when he portrayed the role of Connor in the drama movie, Angelfish. In the movie, Iron Claw, Simons portrayed the role of Mike Von Erich, the younger brother of Zac Efron‘s character, Kevin Von Erich. Mike initially wanted to be a musician but as the tragedy continued befalling his wrestler brothers, he was forced by Kevin to become a wrestler as well and he later ended up taking his own life in the movie.
Once in an interview with Interview Magazine, Stanley Simons opened up about Von Erich’s signature move, Iron Claw which was even used in the movie by Zac Effron’s character. Simons said,
“What I’ve come to understand is that most wrestlers, if they’re big, have signature moves. The Von Erich’s was just your hand squeezing the shit out of someone’s head. Hurts, I guess, really bad. I didn’t do it in the movie, but I definitely did it. Harris [Dickinson] did it the best, he was very dynamic with it.”
The Australian actor even further talked about filming wrestling scenes in the movie.
