Assassin’s Creed Mirage is only around the corner with its release in October, and many fans are getting excited for the return to the classic set-up of the major franchise as Ubisoft ditches the damage numbers, the constant gear swapping and level requirements and goes back to a more compact experience, but something has gained a lot of attention from gamers, and that is the loading screens for Assassin’s Creed Mirage as they go back to the old days of the franchise.

Back in the old days, loading screens were always considered a pain by gamers as they were very slow and ruined the pace of the game that is being played, nowadays this isn’t so much of a problem as consoles are so powerful that they are able to load up games so quickly that they no longer need loading screens. This may seem like a moot point to have classic loading screens in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Still, the reason behind this is because it will be a cross-generation release, so it will be available for purchase on older consoles, so loading screens will be needed.

Even though in newer generation consoles loading screens are a thing of the past, it is still a good thing to see that the loading screens are returning to their roots as well. Back in the old days of Assassin’s Creed, the loading screens were long, but luckily the player could run around an Animus area. The Animus also loading in the new area is very fitting, and now it looks like Assassin’s Creed Mirage is going back to this type of loading screen giving players the time to run around the Animus and give them something to do in their loading screens.

Many gamers have been hoping that Assassin’s Creed returns to its routes and uses older franchise ideas to keep fans interested, but this may not be the case for very long as there are numerous different Assassin’s Creed games in development at the moment and they won’t all follow the same development process.

This could mean that for now, this may be the only Assassin’s Creed release for now that will have the classical design that fans love so much, but if the game receives a lot of good reviews and feedback, it will help to encourage Ubisoft to keep this classical take on Assassin’s Creed and help to avoid the overly large worlds to explore and frustrating combat that has been used in recent years.

Even though this information may not affect players with newer generation consoles, it may still affect a select few gamers who will appreciate this change; What do you think about this throwback to the good old days?
