We’re just a few weeks away from the premiere of Dune: Part Two, directed by Villeneuve and featuring a star-studded cast.

Based on Frank Herbert’s Dune series, Villeneuve split the first book into two movies, with the first installment hitting theaters in 2021. The trailers and promos for Dune: Part Two have piqued the audience’s curiosity, especially regarding the fate of Chalamet’s character, Paul Atreides.

It’s no secret that the second film will end with a cliffhanger, setting the stage for the third installment, which will be based on Herbert’s sequel, Dune Messiah.

In an interview with Time, Villeneuve hinted at the possibility of a trilogy but also hinted that Dune Messiah might be his last involvement with the franchise. He said, “Dune Messiah should be the last Dune movie for me.”

With six books in the series, there’s speculation about who might take over the reins in the future. However, for now, fans are eagerly anticipating the fate of their favorite characters and the continuation of this epic sci-fi journey.
