There are many theories surrounding these Automatons and there is specifically one that completely changes the way you look at these mindless robots. Over the past few days, there is a theory that went viral that claimed Automatons are actually Super Earth citizens that were forcefully converted into Automatons.

A disturbing theory about Helldivers 2‘s Automatons went viral on social media

There is about to be pure chaos for the once-deadly Automatons in Helldivers 2.

A screenshot from 4chan was recently posted on r/Helldivers which proposed a theory that Automatons are Super Earth citizens who had their brains surgically removed and implanted into an Automaton. The user backs up this theory by revealing that there are several human corpses at Automaton outposts and at Automaton Manufacturing Facilities, one will also come across dead bodies in cages, surgery tables, and some dismembered human corpses.

On top of this, this user has claimed many Helldivers 2 players have heard some Automatons screaming words like, “I cannot stop!“, “They are making me do this!” and “Please help me!” Many players debunked this theory claiming that it is hard to tell what Automatons are saying on the battlefield. Plus, Automatons don’t really need the human brain or human flesh to function.

Are Automatons taking revenge?

There's plenty of enemy factions that we still haven't come across yet

There is another theory that states Automatons are taking their revenge by destroying civilization. The theory basically suggests Automatons were a peaceful race but then Super Earth invaded their planets, taking control over the Automatons. In retaliation, Automatons captured the corpses of their enemies and turned them into their robotic soldiers.

As more and more soldiers die on the battlefield, Automatons get their hands on more corpses that they can convert into their own soldiers. Some believe that Automatons are winning the battle as they have the advantage of using the dead bodies of their enemies and turning them against their comrades. These theories indeed make the Automatons much more scarier than they actually are. Either this theory is true or Automatons are just collecting dead humans to replicate them. The Helldivers 2 community is weak against Automaton’s latest mysterious firepower, aerial gunships, and Factory Striders.
