Now that the Call of Duty developer Activision Blizzard falls under the Microsoft banner, it won’t be long before the developer title comes out as an Xbox exclusive. While the newer titles may come out as exclusives, there is a possibility that an older batch of Call of Duty games will come on Game Pass in the near future.
According to the latest report, the older Call of Duty games may soon be coming to Xbox Game Pass. If all the rumor turns out to be true, that also raises a possibility that Activision Blizzard could bring their extensive catalog of other games too to come to Xbox’s subscription service soon. Call of Duty franchise may just serve as the tip of the iceberg.
Call of Duty games may come to Game Pass
Its indeed a big deal if Activision games particularly Call of Duty comes to Game Pass since prior to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision, the developers games usually did not come into the service. Besides, the ability to play the biggest upcoming Call of Duty and Diablo games on Game Pass on day one will help players save significant amount of money.
That being said, it must be noted that unfortunately Xbox is yet to fully integrate Activision Blizzard King’s catalog into the Game Pass library even five months after the deal was sealed. So far Diablo 4 is the only Activision Blizzard game that has managed to land on the service so far. However, the good news is that it is going to change soon.
A report from Insider Gaming claims, “Xbox is gearing up for an announcement on its back catalog” of Activision Blizzard games. This could be done during the upcoming June Xbox showcase event. As a result, 2014’s unannounced Call of Duty game, rumored to be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War may not be the only CoD-related announcement fans can expect from Xbox.
Apart from the new title, the announcement of the addition of past CoD games on Game Pass is also expected.
Which Call of Duty Games could come to Xbox Game Pass?
Notably, Microsoft has already confirmed that it is planning on releasing more Activision Blizzard games on Game Pass. Thus, Call of Duty games seem to be a great start. If Call of Duty games are announced for Game Pass at the upcoming Xbox showcase, they are expected to be shadow dropped at the event, keeping in mind Microsoft’s history with shadow drops.

It is safe to say that exciting times are ahead for all Xbox Game Pass gamers, whether it is Call of Duty or other Activision titles.
