The fear of flying is a common thing among many people. Several big names like Sandra Bullock, Miley Cyrus, Megan Fox, and Jennifer Lawrence have publicly spoken about their fear of flying. They have openly revealed how they have some of their worst experiences in flight. Lawrence also spoke about her harrowing experience when she wanted to jump off an airplane.
Jennifer Lawrence is one of the biggest names in present Hollywood. It is expected that the actress had to travel around the world for her work. Surprisingly, she suffers from extreme ‘plane anxiety’ and did some unbelievable feats in an airplane. She was even surprised that she didn’t get arrested for trying to jump from a running plane.
Jennifer Lawrence wanted to jump from a running plane
Several reasons induce the fear of flying among the common people. It is not unnatural to have Aerophobia. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the No Hard Feelings actress shared a nightmarish experience when she felt claustrophobic and tried to jump from a running plane.
It was revealed that Jennifer Lawrence traveling on an Air France Flight and felt lucky to not have been arrested for trying to jump from a flying plane.
“I tried to jump out of an Air France flight once. I can’t believe I didn’t get arrested. I got really claustrophobic and I had to get out.”
Sadly, an Air France Flight faced one of the deadliest crashes in 2009 with all of its 228 passengers and crew killed.
However, it was not the only unbelievable deed by the Oscar-winning actress. The Silver Linings Playbook actress also shared an embarrassing situation, speaking about how she screamed on a night flight once.
Jennifer Lawrence couldn’t control herself on a flight
Jennifer Lawrence stated that it’s too scary to not be able to control yourself. According to the Don’t Look Up fame, she is not afraid of the airplane but is afraid to lose control of herself on a running flight.
“It’s scary not being able to control yourself — I’ve recently had problems with plane anxiety and it’s really similar. I’m not afraid of the airplane, I’m afraid of me on the airplane and losing control of myself.”
Something like that also occurred to her when her flight was stuck in an air pocket and she panicked very hard. The topic was raised when the interviewer claimed that she always used to worry about screaming in the middle of a flight that it was going down. Lawrence wasn’t shy to admit that something similar happened to her:
“I’ve done that. [Laughs] You know when they hit an air pocket and it feels like you’re falling? I did it on a night flight one time: ‘We’re going down! It’s coming down!'”
On many occasions, several others have also come forward to share about their experiences with Aerophobia. Jennifer Lawrence’s anecdotes paint a clear picture that the actress’ flying experiences hadn’t been that great in the past.
