Ubisoft’s take on an open-world game based in the Star Wars universe is building more anticipation than ever. Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on the 30 August this year on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.
The game’s latest trailer shown during the Summer Game Fest has given us another glimpse into the bright and lively world of Toshara and parts of the Outer Rim that are to be explored by players once the game arrives.
The World of Star Wars Outlaws Is Beginning to Look Enticing
Summer Game Fest has shown off a lot of new (and familiar) titles that are coming to multiple platforms. This includes quite a few open worlds, and Star Wars Outlaw’s latest trailer is nothing short of exciting.
Previously, we’ve seen Ubisoft introduce the game as a new adventure set in a universe that’s familiar to fans across the world. However, this time around, players will be exploring a space that we’ve not seen before. In fact, the game will pay close attention to how cinematic things are, and the narrative will drive towards a direction that never moves away from the Star Wars franchise.
The latest trailer mixes multiple themes that are familiar to those who have been playing Ubisoft games for a while. For instance, the stealth mechanics and liveliness of an open world are pretty adamant in the short trailer.
At the same time, the Outer Rim and Toshara seem to be brimming with an unspoken trance of enigma and secrets that are yet to be uncovered. If you’re a long-time fan of the franchise, you can even spot a familiar face from the movie at 0:12 in the trailer. Perhaps this is a way of Ubisoft asking players to build hype for the game’s story and world before it arrives.
Kay Vess, Nix, and the Life of an Outlaw
Kay Vess is a fresh character in the Star Wars universe, and her personality is full of quirks and ambition. Being an outlaw, her place in this world is often hindered by fellow outlaws and people of authority who see her as a threat.
With the help of companion Nix, Kay will brave this world in hopes of cracking a heist that fills her life with purpose, and exploring the criminal underworld is not something we’ve seen before in a Star Wars game.
