Minecraft is one of the most popular sandbox titles ever, and for good reason; despite the game starting as an Indie title, it was incredibly detailed. The possibilities with the world were endless, and no other title could come close to it, despite the former’s block and pixel-based art style.

Recently, a user on Reddit stated that one of the news add-ons for the game was being wrongly advertised, and the prime caveat for its inclusion was that it was not explicitly stated on the game’s marketplace.

Minecraft’s Functional Furniture is More Than What It Seems

Despite not being at the level it once was, Minecraft’s popularity is still not shabby in 2024. More than one-and-a-half million players play the game every month, and the reason for that is simple: the game’s capability hasn’t diminished, and there is still no other sandbox like it. The IP has been so popular that adaptations and spin-offs have come out of it, too.

The game’s in-game store, Minecraft Marketplace, has been around for several years. One of the recent bundles was titled Functional Furniture. It was created by Pixel Studio, a company specializing in creating game experiences for players.

A fan on the game’s subreddit recently alleged that the add-on is a complete case of false and incomplete advertising. Despite being accountable for not reading the fine print, the player shared that the add-on wasn’t available in their current world. In essence, the add-on offerings couldn’t even be used in the world created by the player.

People also stated that this led them to conclude Minecraft’s Bedrock edition was built for nefarious purposes.

It is important to note that a game like Minecraft will never sustain its position in the video game market if people’s trust in it declines. Mainly because the game’s world and the endless possibilities one can get are part and parcel of its primary offering.

What do you think of the Functional Furniture add-on and other issues highlighted by players of the game’s bedrock edition? We would love to know your thoughts in the comments below.
