Dan Schneider, the mastermind behind a lot of Nickelodeon shows that many still remember as some of the best ones to date, had previously been alleged of misconduct towards Nickelodeon employees and child actors under his watch. Yet while he partly denied these accusations back then, Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV seems to have changed his mind.
The recently released four-part docuseries, which consists of former child actor Drake Bell sharing his story of facing s-xual harassment at the hands of Brian Peck under Schneider’s watch, has apparently made the former Nickelodeon producer aware of his misdeeds. This comes following his apology that he recently issued after watching The Dark Side of Kids TV.
Dan Schneider Gets Candid About His Shortcomings & Past Mistakes
Recently, Schneider sat with BooG!e (T-Bo on iCarly) for an interview (shared on DanWarp on YouTube) to confront all his past demons and get candid about all the horrifying mistakes he was accused of committing.
During this, the iCarly creator openly admitted that he regretted everything he did and that was done under his nose after watching Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.
“Watching over the past few nights was very difficult,” Schneider said. “Me facing my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret. I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology.”
Continuing, Dan Schneider addressed all the allegations about soliciting massages on the sets, the accusations from writers about the brutal treatment they faced, and all the impractical jokes he made, among others. He claimed all of it embarrasses him now and “hurts my heart.”
This was followed with a ton of apologies for all of his past misdeeds, with him even claiming that he was “more devastated by that than anything that ever happened to me in my career thus far” and extended his support to Drake Bell after finding out about Brian Peck’s s-xual assault case.
The Victorious showrunner then further talked about watching the recently released show where Drake Bell shared his side of the s-xual assault story, saying:
“When I watched the show, I could see the hurt in some people’s eyes and it made me feel awful and regretful and sorry. I wish I could go back, especially to those earlier years of my career, and bring the growth and the experience that I have now and just do a better job and never, ever feel like it was okay to be an a*****e to anyone, ever.”
However, even though Schneider made sure to address almost everything thrown around with his name that happened during the time he worked as a producer on Nickelodeon, netizens don’t seem to be buying his apology.
Netizens React To Dan Schneider’s Apologies Over All The Allegations
If Schneider thought issuing a public apology to lessen all the controversy surrounding him after the release of The Dark Side of Kids TV, netizens are now making him realize that he was anything but right to think that.
Taking to X, here’s how they’re reacting to his apology:

if he’s that sorry, he can apologize to all the people he’s done wrong to and serve prison time.

men like these are only sorry when their reputation and public perception is at risk. meanwhile victims deal with their traumas for the rest of their lives. truly disgusting.

He’s “sorry” because they called him out

Considering these reactions, it seems Dan Schneider will have to do a lot more than just release a clip of him admitting to his mistakes and apologizing for them to get back into people’s good side once and for all.
