Bill Murray Was Accused Of S*xually Inappropriate Behavior
Bill Murray might be America’s favorite funny man, but this quality backfired on him during a controversial incident involving the star. Murray who was filming Being Mortal at the time, was accused of inappropriate behavior by a female crew member who chose to remain anonymous.
According to a report in Puck News, the woman alleged that Murray straddled her to one of the beds that was erected on the set. He then proceeded to kiss her through her mask which was mandatory as the film was being made during the Covid period. This action reportedly shocked the woman who said that she was completely caught unawares.
The Tootsie actor, in his defense, revealed to The Guardian that the whole incident was done in complete jest with no other intention beyond humor. Murray’s actions on set resulted in the film getting suspended halfway during production.
“I did something I thought was funny and it wasn’t taken that way. The movie studio wanted to do the right thing so they wanted to check it all out, investigate it and so they stopped the production.”
But the crew member completely denied the actor’s claims and was clear that his behavior was of s*xual nature. Following another film staffer who allegedly witnessed this incident, the woman filed a complaint against the actor and received $100,000 from him as a settlement according to a report in National Post.
Incidentally, this was not the first time that the star has been called out. Another veteran and his co-star in Quick Change Geena Davis also accused him for his supposedly difficult behavior which also included incidents of s*xual harassment towards her.
