“So it’s all very very new and fresh and yeah Aimee finds art nice. She discovers that she is actually a bit of an artist and I love that, because for the whole of the time she’s always been kind of made to feel like she isn’t clever, like she hasn’t got anything really interesting to say like she’s always saying the wrong thing.

But she’s actually just thinks in a different way to everyone else and she’s on a different plane and she’s actually really imaginative and emotionally intelligent and so it makes total sense of course she’s an artist.

She realizes ‘Oh I do have things to say and I am actually smart’, and what I love is that for this whole for the whole three seasons she kind of it doesn’t seem like it bothers her that everyone makes these comments about her intelligence like she kind of like looks like she doesn’t and then in season four you discover that actually no of course it does bother her and of course she feels insecure about it and you kind of get to know a bit more of her inner world which I like”

In Season 4, Gibbs also develops a romantic relationship with Isaac which is a welcome change of pace for her character. Gibbs eventually meets the person who accepts her for who she is after years of being in relationships with boys who were unappreciative of her.
