Javier Bardem opens up about working on Dune: Part Two

Javier Bardem is one of the most established actors in the industry at the moment and the Spanish actor has been making a lot of headlines recently after he reprised his role as Stilgar in Denis Villeneuve’s epic science fiction movie, Dune: Part Two.

Javier Bardem only had a small supporting role in the first Dune movie as he appeared as the leader of the Freemen tribe during the last 30 minutes of the movie. However, in Dune: Part Two, Bardem has a much more significant role. Therefore the actor had to film for long hours in a location far away from his home.

In a recent interview with Wired, Javier Bardem opened up about the filming conditions on the set of Dune: Part Two and revealed that a lot of people worked very hard preparing the filming locations of the movie. He said,

“It always amazes me the amount of work and effort and sacrifice a lot of people are putting in for me to be able to say that line in that moment. For me to be able to just play a scene with Timothée [Chalamet] in the middle of the dunes in Abu Dhabi, the amount of people putting themselves under the heat, constructing roads. A lot of people are putting themselves into very hard circumstances and situations for us to just be able to go there, step on the sand, and say the line.”

Dune: Part Two is currently screening in theatres all around the world.

Javier Bardem reveals that he never stays away from home for more than 2 weeks

Despite being one of the most incredible actors in the industry, Javier Bardem shockingly revealed that he cannot be away from his home in Los Angeles for more than two weeks. The No Country for Old Men actor has been married to Penélope Cruz for almost 14 years and the actor tries his best to spend as much time as possible with his wife and 2 kids.

In the interview with Wired, Bardem revealed that no matter the circumstance, either he or his wife stays at home with their kids. The actor further revealed that he cannot stay away from his family for more than 2 weeks. He said,

“In my case, I never stay longer than two weeks out of the house. Never, never, never, never. Not even in Covid. I don’t ask for more money, I don’t ask for a bigger trailer, I ask, like, ‘I want to be with my family.'”

Despite having an age gap of more than 25 years, Javier Bardem had a lot of kind words for his co-stars, especially for Timothée Chalamet, and Zendaya as he spent a lot of time with them on the sets of Dune: Part Two.

However, as one of the veteran actors on the set of Dune: Part Two, Bardem revealed that he found himself mostly in the company of Josh Brolin whom he has known for years.
