Laurence Fishburne married actress Hajna O. Moss in 1995, and they had two children, Langston and Montana. The couple divorced in the 90s, and he married actress Gina in 2002. They had a daughter, Delilah, in 2007.
Fishburne’s elder daughter shared with Reuters that she had a celebrity childhood because of her famous father. She said,
“It was traditionally unconventional. I’ve had divorced parents since I was 2, and my dad was a really famous actor, so it was as conventional as it could be. We had the best of the best: private schools, traveling all over the world. I’ve had a happy life.”
Montana Fishbourne shared that she decided to enter the p*rn industry after she saw Kim Kardashian’s s*x tape. She shared about her intentions to become an adult star when she turned 18.
Montana told People in 2010,
“Being in an adult film is not a big deal to me. It’s something I always wanted to do. I have always been comfortable in my body and with my sexuality.”
She did not talk to her parents before entering the adult film industry as she had moved out of their house by then.
Laurence Fishburne tried to prevent the release of his daughter’s videos
Montana Fishburne told Reuters that her father was embarrassed by her. His associate reportedly tried to purchase all of her videos to prevent their release, however, they were already shipped.
Montana shared,
“Yes, they were trying to stop it from being released, but the videos had already been shipped out. I understand that they were just trying to look out for my father, but I was happy it wasn’t done.”
Talking about her father’s reaction to her profession she told People,
“I hear through relatives that he’s upset but I haven’t talked to him directly for him to tell me his feelings. I hope it’s not hurting him. It wasn’t done to hurt him. But I think it will take time and talking through the issues. Eventually, I hope he will be proud of me.”
Laurence Fishburne decided to maintain his silence over the matter and did not say anything to his daughter.
Being an adult star did not work out for Montana Fishburne
Choosing the adult star career did not go down well for her, as Montana Fishburne was arrested for prostitution the year before she announced her p*rn career. As per GossipCop (via The Things),
‘She was charged with criminal trespass, a misdemeanor to which she pleaded no contest. Montana was sentenced to two years of probation and 15 days in jail, which she managed to avoid by doing community service.”
Montana Fishburne did not achieve what she wanted in the adult film industry, hence she left it after some time. She shared in an interview with Fox News that she regretted choosing the path and cautioned others against it. Fishburne’s daughter shared that she did not get the money or fame she wanted. She said,
“I don’t encourage people to go into the p*rn industry. You may end up having a really sucky life.”
Laurence Fishburne was already embarrassed by her, and she added to the troubles when she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend’s ex. When she was busted in 2017 for DUI, it reportedly resulted in Laurence shunning her from his life.
However, post-rehab, she is focussing on fitness and yoga. She has finally turned her life around, and apparently, she is working on mending her relationship with her father.
