The mantle of Captain America has been passed to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, marking a new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). After inheriting the shield from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, Wilson’s journey as Captain America began in the 2021 series “Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”

There, he worked alongside some talented stars like Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes) and Daniel Brühl (Baron Zemo). As Marvel has forayed from the TV to the movies and will focus more on Captain America, there are fewer chances of these two actors making a bigger impact in the future. Thus, their absence will be felt, not only by fans but by Mackie as well.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier was just the second Disney+ TV Show and introduced this new Marvel format very well. It brought Steve Rogers’ mutual friends together and they were further joined by the man who caused the Avengers Civil War, Baron Zemo.

Captain America: Brave New World was then announced where Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson will work as the hope of America. Many talented names have since been announced to play crucial roles in the movie.

However, fans have been afraid that Wilson’s friends Zemo and Barnes will be a part of the movie. The answer has been rumored to be no, which Anthony Mackie apparently confirmed in his latest interview with RadioTimes

“The Falcon and [the] Winter Soldier, I really enjoyed doing that show. I was actually excited to do a second season, just so me and Sebastian [Stan] can get paid to hang out.” “Because it’s like me, him and Daniel Brühl. It’s kind of like the perfect storm of happiness.”

“When they decided to go back to the movies, it is what it is, but I don’t have my friends anymore, so it kind of dampens it a little bit.” “Anything I can do to hang out with Daniel, a dancing Daniel Brühl, makes me very happy.”

While Stan and Brühl might possibly miss out on the action in Captain America 4, fans will surely enjoy a potential reunion between these three characters.

Leading the charge in Captain America 4 is Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, who inherits the mantle after the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Joining Mackie are some familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Harrison Ford takes over the role of General Thaddeus Ross, while Tim Blake Nelson reprises his villainous role as The Leader from The Incredible Hulk. Danny Ramirez joins in as Joaquin Torres, who takes up the mantle of Falcon from Sam, and Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, a super soldier with a complex past.

The film also introduces some new characters to the MCU. Shira Haas portrays Sabra, an Israeli mutant soldier, and Liv Tyler makes a surprise return as Betty Ross, the daughter of General Ross and Bruce Banner’s former love interest. WWE Superstar Seth Rollins was also reportedly cast for a role.
