Yet, writer and producer Eric Martin disclosed a fascinating twist, the earlier episodes had a face-off planned between the God of Mischief and the Frog of Thunder.

This unusual transformation of Thor into a frog, as loyal Thor: Ragnarok fans know, was initially intended to grace the season premiere. Composer Natalie Holt revealed that this key scene was one of several initially envisioned. She said,

“I think they just kind of cut it down to kind of give it a bit more focus. But there were a few extra moments in there, and that Frog of Thunder moment was one of them.”

Further, the MCU composer added,

“I don’t know if I should be talking about this! [‘Loki’ director Kate Herron] was hoping to release it as kind of, like, an extra scene at some point, but I don’t know. I don’t know where they are with that.”

It involved Loki’s audacious bid for Asgard’s throne, climaxing in the whimsical revelation of Thor as a frog.

However, despite its grandeur, the scene ultimately found its way to the cutting room floor, possibly due to concerns about overshadowing the gravity of Loki’s interaction with Mobius in the TVA.

Nevertheless, Holt hinted that the much-anticipated throne room scene might still see the light of day as an exclusive extra, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its eventual release.

Notably, Hemsworth’s new voice recordings for the Frog of Thunder strongly suggest humorous exchanges with Hiddleston’s God of Mischief in this unreleased sequence.

“Chris was… I think he was into it. I remember him laughing but it was just so surreal recording him, because even in the original version we had it was a very short scene anyway, so it was very short and sweet.”

As this fan-favorite character from the comic books croaks back into the spotlight, the Marvel universe is set for another engaging adventure in the upcoming Loki season.

According to the streaming platform, Loki 2 begins streaming on October 6th, exclusively on Disney+
