Ryan Garcia is an extremely well-known figure in the world of professional boxing, fighting for the World Boxing Council. In the past, he held the title of interim lightweight, which made his name quite famous in circles outside of the boxing world. It would seem that whispers of his achievements and shortcomings have passed through the gates of Hollywood, as Shia LaBeouf recently trashed the boxer.
During an interview, the actor revealed that he was not a big fan of Garcia, specifically because of what he did to his wife after she gave birth to his son. Some back and forth took place, and it is safe to say that there is some heat between the two celebrities.
Shia LaBeouf Is Not A Fan
Recently, Shia LaBeouf made an appearance on Froch on Fighting, where he talked about boxing as a profession, as well as his thoughts on specific boxers. He started by saying that Gervonta Davis was his favorite, then moved on to talk about his favorite category in the sport. Even though the actor enjoys the lightweight division, there is one specific boxer he does not like in this division.
“I don’t like that Ryan guy. I hate him. I don’t hate him; I don’t hate nobody, but I don’t like him.”
LaBeouf revealed that he did not like Ryan Garcia very much. It was not because of his fighting style or boxing career that made the actor aversive towards him. It was the boxer’s personal life.
Earlier this year, Garcia entered the media spotlight after he announced his divorce from Andrea Celina, the same day she gave birth to their son. Announcing the news in a since-deleted post, via TMZ, he received a lot of backlash for his actions.
” I heard a story about his girl got pregnant, gave birth, and he divorced her the next day. I thought… You’re garbage. Even if you feel that way, divorce is off the menu… but even if you feel that way, dog, wait a minute. She just got out of the hospital room. And then he’s just tweeting about it like a little…”
LaBeouf revealed this to be the exact cause of his dislike for the boxer. He thought Garcia’s actions to be ungentlemanly and stated that no one should ever take such steps if they are unhappy in a marriage.
Ryan Garcia’s Career Is Soaring
Ryan Garcia was quick to speak out on Shia LaBeouf’s comments about him and his personal life on X. He started by threatening violence, asking his fans if they wanted to see him beat up the actor. He then addressed LaBeouf directly, stating that he did not know him personally, so he did not get the right to judge his personal life and decisions.
“Imagine me beating Shia Labeouf’s a–, ima really Transform him to pudding. You don’t know me clown. How the heck you hate me. You can’t rap either. You aren’t like that.”
On top of voicing his opinions about the actor, Garcia also made big progress in his career. The boxer recently fought Devin Haney, something that had been hyped up for months. During this, he knocked down Haney three times, in rounds 7, 10, and 11, and won by Majority Decision. This is a very significant achievement for his career.
