Elizabeth Banks was recently acquainted with the fact that sharks have come in contact with cocaine in the real world. “I’ve seen that. If there’s a great story, then sure.”

She further added how it could easily be a mixture of Jaws with cocaine and pointed out how that is not a script that wouldn’t interest the audience. Cocaine Bear is also based on true events that took place in 1985.

“In my initial presentation [I] brought to the table a lot of really gruesome real-life photography of people who have had limbs ripped off and things like that, and giant gashes and bites, and [I] just sort of said, ‘I want this…’ I wanted The Revenant.”

The movie was made purposely full of gore to express the fear that the bear emits. The entire plot revolves around its unpredictability and how the bear is a figure of fear and danger to anyone around it.
