Due to the various characters that the movie Introduced, there is always hope for Lucasfilm to pick Solo up from where it left off. A Solo Sequel Will Not Be Made Anytime Soon
When asked about any updates on the sequel for Solo: A Star Wars Story, Ron Howard confirmed that the movie series is not on the priority list for Lucasfilm and might not be for a very long time. He further elaborated on how the hype for a second part of the movie is only from the side of the fans and not the studio itself. Even though his movie is not a major priority for the studios, Howard does not want to lose hope.
“But there’s some great characters launched, and the folks from Lucasfilm love the fans and really do listen so I would never say never — but I’m not aware of any concrete plans right now to extend the story or deal with that particular set of characters.”
The movie series seems to be at a standstill with only the fans and the director himself demanding a second part. Even though the reviews of the movie had been both good and bad, the post-credit scene gave fans a reason to grip onto the story and demand more of what the sequel might be able to offer.
Could There Be A Sequel To Solo?
The fans aren’t alone in their quest for a sequel and neither is the director. Co-producer Rob Bredow has been encouraging the audience to keep demanding a second movie that could move Han Solo’s story forward.
Something the writer pointed out was that currently, the world is getting Star Wars content from every direction. New series, new seasons, and various new movies are all becoming more and more frequent. So adding another Solo movie might not be the best in terms of timing, especially considering the mixed reviews the first part got. Although, he is just as excited to someday get back to writing the sequel and bringing more depth to a character that fans adore so much.
