Something the writer pointed out was that currently, the world is getting Star Wars content from every direction. New series, new seasons, and various new movies are all becoming more and more frequent. So adding another Solo movie might not be the best in terms of timing, especially considering the mixed reviews the first part got. Although, he is just as excited to someday get back to writing the sequel and bringing more depth to a character that fans adore so much.
