The Avengers was the first MCU movie that brought all its superheroes together on the same ground. It was a massive risk for the directors but paid off well because the movie was received extremely well. The film had an overwhelming response and grossed over $1.519 billion worldwide.

In a press conference, Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr was asked during what part of his Iron Man evolution did he realize that he would be part of the super-successful Avengers series.

“When we did the first Iron Man to today, with all these folks you see up here, you know it honestly, could not have gone any better. All three franchises that we have launched so far had to work, if this didn’t work, it would have affected all of the previous franchises extremely adversely, and there is also potential for additional franchises based on how strongly people are reacting to Jeremy, Scarlett, and Mark. I am not one of those people who want to be, I just don’t understand why everything has gone this well, but that in this one instance in my life seems to be the situation.”

Robert Downey Jr’s character was killed off in Avengers: Endgame, however, rumors are doing the rounds about the return of the actor in the upcoming MCU film, Avengers: Secret Wars.
