Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, is the focal point of Kevin Feige and his team’s preparation for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before assuming the lead role in the forthcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Majors portrays the villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The antagonist is swiftly gaining popularity among fans. The actor has risen to global fame after being cast as Kang The Conquer in MCU.

Majors talked to ET about his role and how he refused to take any advice from his good friend Michael B. Jordan. Jordan who played Killmonger in Black Panther received glorious reviews for his performance in the film. Starring against the late Chadwick Boseman, Jordan did not stumble. He gave a career-defining performance creating one of the strongest and most hated villains of the MCU second only to Thanos.

Playing the next super-villain for Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is no joke, it is in fact a big challenge for the entire MCU. Majors has to not just create the most terrifying villain in MCU history but also make sure that it is unique. Thanos played by Josh Brolin is a tough act to follow, he is one of the greatest villains to appear on a silver-screen and Kang is supposed to one-up Thanos in the upcoming films. Majors will shoulder the heavy weight of expectation and comparison, he says,

“No, I didn’t, and I don’t really believe in that… Every man, every artist, everyone has their own experience on it. I don’t really care what someone else’s experience is because, for me, at this level… I’m in two huge blockbusters about to hit cinemas. For me and my mental health, I can’t compare. There’s no other outcome than a good experience that I can expect.”

Jonathan Majors continues,

“I don’t want to open myself up to any warnings or any trepidation, or someone else’s point of view or trauma around an event, a person, et cetera. I do my best work when I feel secure. Where I feel secure enough to be dangerous. Or I feel safe enough to be daring. I don’t want anybody else in my head.”

In a separate interview Majors gave insight into how close he and Jordan are. The duo treat each other like brothers yet Majors did not take any advice from Jordan on how he can better terrorize the MCU.

The two are working on Creed III and have been doing  interviews all around. In one of these interviews Jordan shared his views on Majors with Collider. He spoked about how every director like him needs an actor like Majors and how his dedication toward Creed III made work much easier.

“First of all, Jonathan Majors is incredible. We’re very blessed and lucky to have him be a part of this story. For me, as a director, just to have that running mate and partner made all the difference in the world. He’s extremely talented. The world is finding out, daily, how incredible this man is and the work that he does is finally getting the props that it’s due.”

He continued,

“Jonathan [Majors] was incredible. He showed up every day, ready to go to war and ready to work. We bonded in a way that I’ve never had an opportunity to do, and it was my first time exploring that relationship between director and actor. I really understand that now. It’s a bond that’ll last forever.”

Majors and Jordan are so friendly that it’s difficult not to wish that they were both in a Marvel Studios movie together. It’s unfortunate that it’s unlikely that the two actors will ever appear together onscreen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It’s hardly implausible, though, given Kang’s proclivity for time travel and Multiverse mischief.Despite the fact that Jordan and Majors might not have an MCU moment anytime soon they will star in Creed III.
