When the interviewer asked her about the tight-knit bond that he saw among the cast members, Emily Rudd revealed that they spent quite a lot of time together. Talking about Iñaki Godoy, the lead actor who portrays the role of Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd revealed that she was protective of Godoy which is simply giving the real-life Nami and Luffy vibes!

“We all kind of spent time with each other equally, but I spent a lot of time with Iñaki [Godoy] and we definitely developed this older-sister-younger-brother dynamic. He’s 19 and I am not, so I felt a little protective of him. But, also he’s so energetic, so playful — it’s infectious. We created silly little bits that we just milked to death.”

Being an awesome actress, Emily Rudd has also done all the stunts in One Piece by herself and that’s something to be proud of. In a separate video, the actress talked about the need for her to perform her own stunts and why she was “all in”!

“Nami is a pro at the bo staff, and that’s something you see in the manga, and we wanted to bring more into the live-action series, and god, the fight sequences are so fun to do. So, I’m kind of like ‘Throw them all in, I’ll do them all.”

Receiving a rating of 8.3/10 and a whopping 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, Netflix’s One Piece is one of the few anime to live-action adaptations that actually succeeded. The series has been renewed for a second season but a solid release date hasn’t been revealed yet. One Piece is available to stream on Netflix around the world.
