The Egghead arc in One Piece has become a big test for the Straw Hat Pirates, to evaluate whether they are strong enough to enter the final saga and fight in the main battle. Although Sanji recently showed his new power of love and stopped a laser attack from Kizaru which has never been done before, Zoro has yet to show any new power upgrade that could take their rivalry to a whole new level. One Piece has been introducing intriguing themes in recent chapters that hint at a prolonged narrative on Egghead Island. The arrival of V. Nasjuro, a Gorosei with ice-based sword skills, is one noteworthy feature. The addition of Zoro’s usage of the Hahava Leopard Hunter attack adds to the mythological undertones by alluding to the Buddhist concept of the freezing underworld.
In Norse mythology, the freezing hell is also represented by Niflheim, a chilly, dark realm ruled by Hel, the Goddess of Death. Zoro’s fortitude will be put to the test in this bout, which will also highlight his development since Wano. However, Zoro being one of the most important characters in the series won’t lose so easily, and that too in the beginning of the final saga.
He has a long way to go and has to prove his worth as a swordsman by fulfilling his promise to his childhood friend. He is destined to get a power upgrade now and become much more powerful than before.
