Adam Driver, like many actors, had to find his way into the industry by going through numerous auditions and hoping to be noticed by people of power and authority. He had a particularly cynical way of going into an audition which turned out to be beneficial for him if things did not work out. He told WWD,
“I trained myself, whenever I walk into auditions, to hate everyone in the room. That way, if it doesn’t work out, I can be like, ‘I fucking didn’t like those people anyway!’”
Driver’s approach to auditions is a genuinely healthy way to handle any type of rejection that actors usually face while auditioning for gigs. He later impressed creators like Lena Dunham who gave him his first major acting role as Adam Sackler in Girls. He has now become one of the most sought-after actors of the current generation.

Adam Driver recently premiered his film Ferrari at the 2023 Venice Film Festival. At the press conference of the film, Driver commented on the Hollywood strikes and criticized big studios like Netflix and Amazon for not realizing the significance of the demands of the SAG-AFTRA union. He said (via The Hollywood Reporter),
“I’m very happy to be here to support this movie, but also I’m very proud to be here, to be a visual representation of a movie that’s not a part of the AMPTP, and to promote the SAG leadership directive – which is an effective tactic – which is the interim agreement.
Why is it that a smaller distribution company like [Ferrari’s] Neon and STX International can meet the dream demands of what [SAG] is asking for… but a big company like Netflix and Amazon can’t? It just makes it more obvious that these people are willing to support the people they collaborate with, and the others are not”
On the work front, Driver’s biographical sports drama film Ferrari is set to release in theatres on December 25, 2023. He is also set to lead Francis Ford Coppola’s sci-fi epic Megalopolis, alongside Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, and Giancarlo Esposito.
