A mentor-mentee relationship often develops in the vibrant world of Hollywood, where seasoned actors are frequently paired with up-and-coming performers. Such was the case when the young and incredibly talented Logan Lerman and the ageless powerhouse Brad Pitt were cast together.

In addition to his seductive charm and devilishly good looks, Brad Pitt has played roles that required him to get seriously ripped. His appearances in films like Fight Club and Troy are among his most recognizable ones. Additionally, he displayed his physical fitness by fighting alongside much younger co-stars in the 2014 David Ayer war movie, Fury

Other actors in the film included Michael Pea, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, and Shia LaBeouf.  Meanwhile, Lerman once praised Pitt and his unrivaled fighting skills while they were co-starring in a 2014 war film that received positive critical acclaim.

Logan Lerman Marveled At Brad Pitt’s Timeless Fighting Skills

In David Ayer’s Fury, Brad Pitt teamed up with a number of younger actors. At the time, his castmates included Shia LaBeouf, Scott Eastwood, Logan Lerman, and other actors. Due to the nature of the war movie, there were a few times when there was tension between the actors on set.

Pitt had to stop the fight between LaBeouf and Eastwood when it was infamously on the verge of breaking out.

At one point, the Thelma & Louise actor also joined the action. It turned out that Ayer frequently arranged for the actors to fight each other in controlled situations. Lerman could not help but laud Pitt’s athleticism after witnessing what the latter was still capable of. Previously, The Three Musketeers actor stated to Shortlist (via Contact Music):

“I think Brad Pitt is one of the coolest tough guys in movie history. Fight Club is one of my favourite films and Tyler Durden is one of the most badass characters ever. Every morning at 5am, David Ayer had us put on UFC-style padded clothes and fight each other for a few hours. I forgot Brad is f**king 50 you know? He’s in killer shape and f**king fought with the young dudes. He still looks like Tyler Durden.”

Pitt has always been able and willing to keep up his physical appearance. Damon Caro, who was the actor’s stunt coordinator for Fight Club, once reflected on the experience of watching him get fit.

According to Men’s Health, Caro once remarked:

“He is a genetic freak. Brad’s got the ability to do whatever he wants to do. He can build up, but for that one he got lean, so while he was working out and lifting he was restricting his calories. I mean he was shredded for that film.”

Brad Pitt Has An Ageless Vigor

Brad Pitt, at the age of 59, defies the stereotypes of middle-aged actors in terms of his physical prowess. He deliberately worked on getting in the best shape of his life for Troy. The Academy Award winner played the warrior Achilles. He was determined to be at his best for the role because it represented an important turning point in his career.

He remarked in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2011:

“I was turning 40. I wanted to go all out and just see what I could do. I worked for a year on that one, physically.”

For his Troy workout, he adopted a different strategy than he did for Fight Club. For the Wolfgang Peterson film, Pitt needed to develop a beefier look, according to his trainer Duffy Gaver (Esquire):

“Brad’s never had a problem leaning out, but the uphill battle was about putting size on him.”

As he grew older, Pitt seemed to be less concerned about age and impressed with maintaining the physique he had in his youth. While many actors opt for a more sedentary lifestyle as they get older, the Fight Club actor, 59, has blatantly defied the odds.
