Stan has tested his tolerance level for a role as well. While his appearance in horror movies is well adjacent to the actor, one horror movie frightened the MCU star. Jennifer Lawrence, who led the movie, also endured intense nightmares.

Darren Aronofsky is one of the Hollywood directors who has created a legacy by making some of the most disturbing movies, including Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, and Mother! Particularly, Mother! was frightening, and its disturbing elements were not exclusive to the audience. Sebastian Stan who auditioned for the role of Younger Brother in the 2017 horror mystery, recently revealed that he “hyperventilated” during the audition.

Stan lost the role, “I got very nervous and I didn’t get it,” he told Variety in an interview during his promotional tour of A Different Man. The Ex Machina star Domhnall Gleeson eventually secured the role in Aronofsky’s film.

Now, the actor has a series of projects lined up. Following his Aaron Schimberg-directed A24 film, A Different Man, Stan will return to MCU to reprise his role of Bucky Barnes in Thunderbolts. “I’m excited,” Stan said of his MCU return. “I’m going to go back basically in a month or so. I’ve missed it. It’s a great cast,” The Falcon and the Winter Soldier actor added. An update shared by Florence Pugh from the set of the movie confirmed that Thunderbolts is now in production.

Mother! Gave Jennifer Lawrence The Ultimate Nightmare

Jennifer Lawrence is an actor ready to go to extreme heights for a movie role, but Aronofsky’s Mother! was a bit too far for the actor to digest the essence of the movie. The actor revealed that she went through all nine layers of hell while making the movie. “I was really shaken,” Lawrence said of the film (via Cinema Blend).

“My first reaction was that we took it too far. But then after the images died down a little bit, exactly what we’re supposed to be doing and what we need to be doing. We have a message and if we watered it down to make people comfortable then what’s the point? Why even make it?” she added.

Lawrence poured all of her energy into the film, and the actor revealed that she would never do a movie like that again. But she doesn’t regret doing the controversial movie. “No. I don’t regret it. I’m happy I did it,” she was quite candid about reflecting on the movie while chatting with Entertainment Weekly.

“If I had to do it again? If there was a mother! sequel? No. I wouldn’t be able to do it again. I did it once and I gave it my all.”

Lawrence played the nameless lead known as Mother in the movie, where her character had to go through intense psychological horror. The A-lister is not willing to go back to the character or any movie that extends the height of trauma both on and off the screen.

Mother! is available to stream on PlutoTv.
