In the 2020 episode, the actress stated that she began a friendship with August Alsina about “four and a half years ago.” The bond that grew between the two, back then, resulted from the now 30-year-old singer “needing some help” and Pinkett Smith being there to support him throughout his health-related struggles.
Things got more convoluted when Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith started going through a difficult phase in their relationship. “I was done with you,” stated the former to contextualize the depth of the situation. Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals What A Woman’s Superpower Is
Before the shocking revelation made its way to the public, The Nutty Professor actress, in a Mother’s Day Special episode of Red Table Talk, claimed that a woman’s superpower is how capable she is of deeply loving someone. This statement was backed up by her experiences of growing up in Baltimore, surrounded by many loving Black women.
Following was her statement:
“I’ve always believed a woman’s superpower is how deep she can love, you know? And one of the things growing up in Baltimore, I grew up around a lot of Black women that didn’t have, necessarily, resources to give, right? But they had their strength and they had their love to offer…”
While Jada Pinkett Smith’s wholesome assertion was lauded back then, it felt like a blatant contradiction to some after the stupefying confession she and her husband later partook in.
Public opinion on this controversially complex and personal topic remains divided and conflicting. What we can, however, confirm is that the renowned Hollywood couple seems to be doing much better nowadays. They’ve successfully managed to eliminate several hindrances in their much-discussed marriage. Their unwavering support for each other further affirms such claims.
