One of the main reasons why Demon Slayer became such a big phenomenon among anime and manga fans was the series’ ability to impact the emotional chords of the viewers. While the animations, the characters, and the storyline are great, the main element that helped the series achieve success was its heartfelt moment.
Since the first episode was released in 2019, the series has been an emotional rollercoaster ride. Many fans believe that the most emotional part of the entire series was from the Mugen Train arc, which was developed into a movie called Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—The Movie: Mugen Train. The movie was such a big success that it was the highest-grossing film of 2020.
In an interview, the voice actor of Tanjiro, Natsuki Hanae revealed his first reaction after watching the final animation of the movie and what he thought of the first Demon Slayer movie as a whole.

After the movie was released, Anime News Network was able to interview Hanae and Satoshi Hino (Rengoku’s voice actor) and ask them about their characters and the roles they played in the Demon Slayer movie. Hanae was even asked about his first reaction after watching the final animation of the movie.
Hanae stated:
“Once we finished recording and when I finally saw the completed film, I felt like I had a lot of emotions running through me. I felt a little dizzy for a while after watching the movie, but immediately felt like I wanted to see it again.”
According to the voice actor, the movie ignited a lot of emotions within him, and he felt dizzy at first but wanted to watch the movie again. Hanae did a brilliant job portraying Tanjiro in Demon Slayer: The Movie: Mugen Train and was able to bring out the feelings of the character that even shocked him.
The Emotional Impact of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train
Emotions are a very important aspect of any anime or manga series. However, Demon Slayer took it to another level with the movie, and the worldwide recognition is proof of that. The series introduced emotional twists one after the other. From Rengoku’s mother feeling proud of her son to Tanjiro getting a reunion with his family, the movie made fans cry at every turn.
However, the most emotional scene in the movie is definitely the death of Rengoku. Rengoku was an important character in the story, and killing off such a major character obviously carries with it an element of feeling for the characters in the movie and for the fans. Rengoku’s death was accompanied by a lot of these feelings.
The appearance of Rengoku’s mother, Tanjiro calling Akasa a coward, Inosuke crying uncontrollably, and Rengoku accepting Tanjiro’s endeavor of turning his sister back into a human. All these emotions were bundled together in the last moment, making the movie probably the best part of the entire Demon Slayer franchise.
