Walton Goggins has impressed viewers with his performance as The Ghoul / Cooper Howard, a mutated gunslinger in Fallout. During an interview with TVLine, Goggins was asked about how it was to act with prosthetics on his face that hid his nose during his screen appearance. However, Goggins explained that the prosthetics applied on his face actually did not alter his nose, which was digitally removed during post-production.

“It was fine for me because I had a nose while we were filming it and the the prosthetic pieces came to a point where they created this triangle right and then they put these white dots over my nose so that they could take it out in post.”

Goggins made the above statement revealing that the realistic and intimidating look of his character was achieved through CGI instead of practical effects. Therefore, Goggins did not have any issue playing a noseless character in the series. However, Goggins added it might have been a challenge for his co-actors to act opposite him given his heavy prosthetics look.

“It was much more uncomfortable.”

Goggins made the above statement regarding the prosthetics that were applied to his face and extended to his neck for his Fallout character. While Goggins noted that the makeup process for Venus took nearly four hours, the process for The Ghoul character took almost five hours at the start. However, the crew was later able to reduce the time Goggins spent in the makeup chair.

Aside from Goggings, Fallout also stars Ella Purnell and Aaron Moten in the lead roles. The first season overseen by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet debuted on April 10, 2024, and comprises eight episodes.
