Portraying the role of the on-screen daughter of Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen, the role would have gone to the American singer if not for Samantha Barks.
Being the on-screen love interest of Eddie Redmayne’s Marius Pontmercy, Swift sat down alongside the actor in an interview. “This is immediately become a nightmare for me. I once died in his [Eddie Redmayne’s] arms in a screen test for ‘Les Mis’. They’re like ‘You know, do you wanna come to London for one last screentest and you’ll get a screentest with Eddie Redmayne’ and I’m like an experience I want to have”
She further continued,
“I get there and they’re like ‘Ok, so we really wanna like make you look like Éponine’. She had brown teeth. They’re like ‘We should paint you teeth brown for this’ and I’m like ‘So, you’re gonna do that after I meet Eddie Redmayne, right?'”
Taylor Swift further continued how everyone met her with brown teeth because that is just how it goes. The actress further went on to talk about how Eddie Redmayne behaved with her the first time he saw Swift in the makeup of Éponine.
