Despite hating the role of Han Solo, Harrison Ford made a surprising cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. In the scene, he confronts his son, Kylo Ren, and manages to turn his back on the dark side. However, many fans debated that Ford’s Han Solo was a Force Ghost or a projection conjured by Princess Leia Organa.

During an interview with USA Today, Ford was asked if his character in the film was a Force Ghost. Not understanding the intricate details of the film, the veteran actor playfully shuts down the question stating he could not care any less.

“A Force ghost? I don’t know what a Force ghost is. Don’t tell anyone. I’m not talking loud enough for your recorder. I have no f**king idea what a Force ghost is. And I don’t care.”

Though the Blade Runner actor was unaware of the intricate details of the sci-fi franchise, he sure was aware of his character’s future as he had stated how Solo does not have a future, and he wanted out from the character.

Harrison Ford Wanted George Lucas To Kill Han Solo After The First Star Wars Movie

Harrison Ford is not a big fan of Han Solo, and he said his much-awaited goodbye to the role in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Despite not being a fan of the character, he kept reprising the role for a very long time. During an interview present on YouTube, the actor shared how he asked George Lucas to kill his character right after the film and it was for all the right reasons.

“I thought Han Solo should die. I thought he ought to sacrifice himself for the other two characters[Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa]. I said,’ He’s got no mama, he’s got no papa, he’s got no future. He has no story responsibilities at this point so let’s allow him to commit self-sacrifice.’”

However, George Lucas did not comply with the actor’s request, as he felt that Han Solo would play a crucial role in the further development. He was right, as Solo had a major role in some of the iconic moments of the franchise’s history.
