Netflix has managed to adapt the popular Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series which follows the story of Aang, who is also the Avatar, the one who can master all four elements: Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. While the animated series has quite interesting chapters revolving around the protagonist and his friends, Katara and Sokka, the Netflix series has already released the first season with eight episodes.

Despite the show getting mixed responses from viewers, one couldn’t help but notice the live-action characters meticulously even to their slightest detail. Among them, Princess Yue’s character managed to captivate viewers’ interest with her ethereal beauty. While the character met a tragic conclusion in the series, fans couldn’t help but wonder about the striking resemblance of live-action Yue with Taylor Swift’s friend, Ice Spice.

In Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Amber Midthunder played the role of Princess Yue, the daughter of Chief Arnook of the Northern Water Tribe. Despite the character having a short runtime in the series before she eventually sacrificed herself for the better good, it managed to become one of the fan-favorite animated characters in ATLA.

However, in live-action, many couldn’t help but wonder how she resembles Taylor Swift’s friend, Ice Spice. As the curiosity grew, fans took to X to share both stars’ pictures side by side only to get awed by the results.

The 24-year-old rapper’s facial appearance strikingly matches Midthunder’s Princess Yue look, which didn’t fit well with fans. One user wrote how they couldn’t pinpoint what bothered them while watching the 26-year-old actor’s character before realizing that she looked similar to Ice Spice.

While viewers are surely unable to unsee the resemblance between the duo, the animated character is still everyone’s favorite due to the significant impact it left in the series.

Though Netflix has made significant changes in the live-action, it still closely followed important timelines. Given that Princess Yue plays a major role in the Book 1 event after the Northern Water Tribe gets invaded by the Fire Nation under Admiral Zhao’s command, the sequence is there in the live adaptation.

For the unversed, Aang along with Katara and her brother, Sokka met the Northern Water Tribe in search of a water-bender expert who could teach him waterbending. However, the Fire Nation ends up invading the tribe with Admiral Zhao having sinister plans to kill the Moon Spirit’s physical form, Tui. Tui and La (the ocean spirit) are two Koh fishes who live in the oasis.

However, Zhao kills the moon spirit, causing a disruption on Earth, that could affect all lives. As the situation gets severe, Princess Yue, who was saved by the Moon Spirit, steps forward to return Moon’s spiritual life by sacrificing her own.

Since Moon and Ocean spirits are crucial for waterbenders, her sacrifice not only saved the entire waterbenders’ abilities but also life in general, since Moon was needed to balance life itself.
