When it comes to building relationships with one’s co-stars, Morgan isn’t one to shy away from taking risks. While many would want to be on good terms at all times, sometimes even walking on eggshells; others would go on all-out wars. Morgan, however, went ahead with wanting to irritate Andrew Lincoln.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Angered Andrew Lincoln on Purpose

Jeffrey Dean Morgan told Entertainment Weekly how there are many who take their work very seriously. That included Andrew Lincoln as well. When filming The Walking Dead, the actor would purposefully find ways to trouble his co-star.

“I know I’m doing my job the more mad Andy Lincoln gets,” the actor stated. “So if off-camera he’s screaming and swearing in between takes, I know me and Negan are doing our job and I’ve gotten him pretty riled up.”

He claimed that there was always a constant need to nag him since Lincoln was very serious about his art. So were Morgan’s character to get to Rick and pester him, it was important for him to establish the same level of frustration within the actor as well.

So as to incorporate that, Morgan constantly troubled Lincoln until he was screaming and swearing with no end. When the Supernatural actor witnessed the same behavior, he knew it was a job well done.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Never Left Things As Is

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was adamant about making Andrew Lincoln a furious mess when he was at work. It became the ultimate goal for him to infuriate the actor to his best potential before their shoot. That would help both of them also imitate the same emotions through their characters.

“Then of course we have to go and apologize and get back to being friends after takes, but it’s been intense. And that is fun.”

While the idea in itself was not bad enough, if left uncared for, it could lead to a twisted and tainted relationship between the two co-stars. However, Morgan was not one to leave things as is. He went above and beyond to apologize to Lincoln after the shoots.

It became a purpose of his to mess with the actor only to apologize right after. This way, there were no hard feelings and the two of them could also maintain their friendship at the same time.
