Rather than just doodle away his thoughts, the actor/director has collected his stray thoughts about his critically acclaimed horror series, A Quiet Place, and is quietly working on a third part. While not much is known about the upcoming threequel yet, The Office star has revealed several interesting tidbits about his budding franchise.
Collaborating with his wife, Emily Blunt, on the project, Krasinski has hinted that all the installments will be interconnected in some way. There will be callbacks and Easter eggs, so he expects fans to keep a lookout for clues hidden in plain sight.
John Krasinski Provided A Glimpse Into A Quiet Place Part 3
When John Krasinski’s ninety-minute post-apocalyptic sci-fi horror film A Quiet Place debuted in 2018 to overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and audiences, it completely upended the industry. After such acclaim and success, Paramount Pictures promptly reached out to Krasinski about a sequel, which he initially turned down (per THR).
Despite not having been planned at first, a sequel to A Quiet Place was given the green light, considering how successful the movie was. And, Krasinski eventually changed his mind and even came up with ideas for Part II while working on Part I.
Moreover, Krasinski also explained his reasoning for initially declining to The Hollywood Reporter in 2021.
“So a lot of the things I had thought were interesting to think about on Part I ended up being in Part II. And then on Part II, I learned my lesson very quickly. Any time I had ideas like that, I wrote them down in case there ever is a Part III or a third one. (Laughs.)”
While Krasinski refrained from disclosing any specific plot points for A Quiet Place Part 3, his remarks did allude to intriguing possibilities. To quote him:
“So I would be able to reference some of these things if there is a Part III. And we even went so far as to put in a couple Easter eggs, so that if I did do a third one, they would connect back to the second one.”
While the former Mr. Fantastic of the MCU might star in the upcoming saga of A Quiet Place, we can be sure of Easter eggs that will hint at what happened to his character, in case of his absence. There’s still a lot of lore to cover, and A Quiet Place 3 will be the perfect way to add to it.
What You Need to Know About A Quiet Place Part 3
There is no doubt that A Quiet Place 3 will take place, but it may take longer than 2025 for the Abbott family to return. However, the prequel A Quiet Place: Day One by Michael Sarnoski, which is slated for release on June 28, 2024, is not supposed to feature the Abbott family.
The direct sequel to A Quiet Place Part II is still in development at Paramount, although the original 2025 release date was “changed”, according to an EW report from February 2024. John Krasinski is most likely going to return to write and direct the threequel.
Because the Abbott family survived several near-death experiences in A Quiet Place Part II, viewers can anticipate seeing Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott, Millicent Simmonds as Regan Abbott, and Noah Jupe as Marcus returns.
In an interview with Digital Spy in 2021, Simmonds, 20, stated that she would “absolutely” be open to a third film or even a cameo in the spin-off. She added:
“It would be an honour. I would love to jump back into this world.”
Moreover, Collider was informed by Krasinski in 2021 that he had begun work on a third film. The actor noted:
“This time, I think when my brain started wondering [about questions like], ‘What would this mean later on?’ I started to write down notes in case I could prepare myself for a third one.”
With Krasinski’s revelation that ideas intended for Part 3 had been absorbed, it is clear that the third installment will continue the evolving storyline. As fans wait for the release of A Quiet Place Part 3, the excitement intensifies, promising another intense and chilling cinematic experience in this groundbreaking trilogy.
